Application of genetic algorithm with a self-tuning adaptive controller for design of power system stabilizer

This paper is investigated the effectiveness of using a genetic algorithm (GA) identifier in a self-tuning adaptive controller (STC). The controller design issue is formulated as an optimization problem that is solved via GA. IEEE second benchmark model is used for numerical simulation studies performed using MATLAB software. Behavior of the suggested adaptive GA power system stabilizer (GAPSS) shows more adequacies than conventional and classic PSS (CPSS).
