Control of Active Power Line Conditioner with Neural-Genetic networks

The widespread application of power electronics is increasing the number of electrical loads which distort the current and coltages supplied by the ac line. APLC (Active power Line Condithioner) is a type OF Active power filter that compenstates the coltage waveform distortion caused by harmonics in a power system. Therefore the impact of voltage harmonics can be minimized by using an active power line conditioner (APLIC) to inject compensating current. In this paper , a method to control an APLC using Neural Network and Genetic algorithm is presented. The simulation results show hat the new system is a simple effective scheme to line harmonics compensation
