This paper deals with the measurement of the corona inception voltage for hemi-spherically capped rod-plane electrode configuration at the point of corona inception for a suitable range of radii on short air gap under AC power frequency voltage. Then, the effect of atmospheric pressure and temperature variation on the corona inception voltage by laboratory tests in comparing to correction factors of IEC standard atmospheric conditions is investigated.
