A typical medical Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contains a large electromagnet capable of creating a static
magnetic field in the range of 0.5 Tesla (T) to 3.0 T with a uniformity across the tunnel of 0.5 parts per million (ppm). The central volume, in which patients are placed, is called the tunne The main purpose of this work is to design a thick solenoid coil for MRI scanner. Two key factors in this design are field homogeneity and minimum wired volume consumption.
