Distributed generation (DG) sources are more important in micro-grid due to the incremental demands for
electrical energy. Power loss reduction, environmental friendliness, voltage improvement, postponement of system upgrading, and increasing reliability are some advantages of DGunit application. Locations and sizing of DG sources have profoundly impacted on the system losses in micro-grid system In this paper particle swarm optimization (PSO) is utilized for optimal location and sizing of DG in micro-grid system Minimization of power losses, total cost of micro-grid and improving voltage quality due to finding proper bus and also find optimal size of each DG at each bus are considered in the objective function. The system consists of fuel cells, wind turbines and PV arrays. The uncertainty of wind power is considered for micro-grid in order to supply customer more reliable. A detailed performance analysis is done on IEEE 33 bus system
