Nowadays, reactive power valuation is an important research issue in restructured power systems. Although different methods have been established for pricing reactive power, they have a little attention to power system security and reliability. In this paper a new concept of reactive power compensation based on reliability aspects of power system is introduced. More over modification to this method by introducing voltage control areas is discussed
